Military & Defence Force Employees

Members of the Australian Defence Force, as well as those connected to them, may file claims for injuries they received while working. Cadets, reservists, and civilians engaged in service-related activities are examples of related individuals.

Whether you are entitled to make a claim?

Incapacity payments are due to ADF members who sustain injuries while on the job and become incapable of performing their duties. Furthermore, coverage for paying for medical treatment costs is offered.

What are your entitlements that you can claim?

If you are injured after 01 July 2004 then your compensation claim will be governed by Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act. If you are injured, you will be entitled to the following:

  • Weekly wages: If the worker is unable to work full-time hours, they are also entitled to receive make-up pay. In addition, subject to legal limitations, benefits are offered to injured workers who sustain a permanent impairment as a result of their injury and are eligible to receive compensation as such.
  • Medical Treatment & Expenses: A worker who sustains an injury has the right to file a claim for all fair and required medical costs.
  • Lum Sum Compensation claim: In comparison to members who are injured while serving in peacetime, lump sum payments for members who sustain injuries while performing warlike or non-warlike duties will be paid at a higher rate.
