A workers’ compensation program covering all employees hired by federal agencies or under a federal award is established by the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act, 1988. In the past, this has included employees of companies like Telstra, Australia Post, Commonwealth Bank, and others. “Comcare Claims” is the term used to describe any workers’ compensation claim filed in accordance with the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act of 1988.
Whether you are eligible to make a Comcare Compensation claim?
A claim for benefits may be made for any injury sustained by an individual working for an employer covered by the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act of 1988 if the injury occurred during that employment. The Comcare Scheme offers benefits for psychological and/or physical injuries that limit an employee's capacity to perform their job duties to the fullest extent possible and/or necessitate medical attention.
What entitlements you can claim for?
Under the Comcare Scheme, an injured worker is entitled to the following:
Weekly wages : If the worker is unable to work full-time hours, they are also entitled to receive make-up pay. In addition, subject to legal limitations, benefits are offered to injured workers who sustain a permanent impairment as a result of their injury and are eligible to receive compensation as such.
Medical Treatment & Expenses: A worker who sustains an injury has the right to file a claim for all fair and required medical costs.
Lum Sum Compensation claim: If it can be proven that the employer's negligence caused the injury, the injured worker may pursue a common law claim for damages against the company under the Comcare Scheme.
